Recently I met a new friend who needed to sell his home, he was very proud of his home and how much it should sell for. When I told him what it was worth in the market, he was very unhappy and wanted me to list nearly $15,000 above the market price, I would've listed it for him regardless but when I suggested him to price it a little lower it offended him. So he told me he was going to sell his home through someone else, and I said no worries if you ever need any help or questions, I am here for you. The realtor did list at the price he suggested $15,000 above market and he was very happy fast forward 150 days and he was not very happy because his home was still on the market and available for sale not one contract. He ended up calling again and asking me to list his home for him since he was not happy and had already tried reducing the price but nothing worked, this time we listed his home right at market price and within 5 days we had 2 contracts above asking price and now we are closing on his home in 6 days. He is very excited to be selling his home, sometimes we have a hard time putting a value on our own home because we have built it with such pride and have so many memories that sometimes it is hard for us to put a value on our home. But luckily we can always rely on the market to help price our home. If you price your home to sell it will sell, is the best way to look at it. "To explain why we picked Don as our real estate agent, is a story has to be told. Two year ago we had hired a real estate agent to try to sell our home. The real estate agent was referred to us from a friend. After 4 months of dealing with a "used car saleman" we tried another agent. After one year of being gracious with her and not having our calls returned, we decided to try a different approach with which I now recommend everyone to do. We picked seven different real estate agents that were both recommended from friends and from top sellers in the area to come to our home for interviews at different days and time. The interesting thing we found during these interviews were the different "styles" each real estate agent had. Some used old school selling techniques and some used up to date technological approaches.
